Tomorrow is Memorial Day

Memorial Day was created to be a day of national pause. It’s a day set aside to remind us that freedom isn’t free. It is a reminder that there is a price to be paid for the freedoms and liberties you and I enjoy.

Memorial Day is a day set aside for us to show respect and pay honor to those soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines who left families and sweethearts to stand as gate keepers preserving the principles and values upon which America was founded and has continued to flourish.

Memorial Day is a sacred moment for us as a nation to, with thankful hearts, honor those who willingly took the oath to stand as defenders of our nation and who ultimately gave their life for a cause higher than their own.

So, this Memorial Day, when we open up the sales flyers, untie the boat, fire up the grill, or head for the beach, let’s be mindful of what this solemn day is really about: it’s about honoring and giving thanks for the brave men and women who gave their last measure of devotion to secure and preserve our freedoms. It’s because of them and all who have served in defense of our nation that you and I may continue to enjoy a blessed life in the land of the free and the home of the brave.
