Serving Opportunities
How to Get More Involved at Life Church
Opportunities are available for those who would like to serve. One of the best ways to meet people, develop relationships, and grow as a follower of Christ is to serve the local church, and there’s always plenty to do on Sundays at Life Church Calvert.
Love God, Love People by Serving God and Serving People.
Serving in the church can bring great meaning and purpose to one’s life. It is a way to give back to the community, connect with others, and deepen one’s faith. Whether volunteering in a ministry, leading a small group, or participating in outreach efforts, there are many ways to serve and contribute to the church’s life.
One of the primary benefits of serving in the church is the sense of community it fosters. Through serving alongside others, we develop meaningful relationships and form connections that can last a lifetime. When we serve, we become part of something larger than ourselves, working together towards a common goal. This shared sense of purpose can bring us closer to each other and help us feel more connected to the church community as a whole.
Serving in the church can also deepen our faith and spiritual growth. By stepping outside our comfort zones and taking on new challenges, we can learn to rely more fully on God and trust His plan for our lives. Serving can also help us develop critical spiritual disciplines, such as prayer, worship, and study of the Bible, as we seek to grow in our understanding of God’s word and apply it to our daily lives.
In addition to these personal benefits, serving in the church can also make a significant impact on the lives of others. Whether it is through providing practical assistance to those in need, sharing the message of God’s love with those who have not yet heard it, or simply being a listening ear and a source of support to those who are struggling, our service can have a powerful impact on the lives of those around us. Through our actions, we can show others the love and compassion of Christ and help them tangibly experience His grace and mercy.
Of course, serving in the church is not always easy. Finding the time, energy, and resources to serve can be challenging, especially when we have other commitments and responsibilities in our lives. We may also face obstacles like fear, doubt, or uncertainty about our abilities and qualifications. However, it is essential to remember that God does not call us to serve alone. He promises to equip us with the tools and resources we need to serve, and He will be with us every step of the way.
If you are considering serving in the church, many resources are available to help you get started. Talk to your pastor or church leaders about the different ministries and available service opportunities. Consider taking a spiritual gifts assessment to help you identify your strengths and areas of service. And most importantly, pray and seek God’s guidance as you discern where and how He calls you to serve.
In conclusion, serving in the church can be an enriching and meaningful experience. It allows us to connect with others, deepen our faith, and make a difference in the lives of those around us. So, if you want to give back to your community and grow your relationship with God, consider serving in the church. You may be surprised at how much it will enrich your life and the lives of those around you.

First Impressions Team

Parking Team
Our Parking Team ensures that our parking lot is kept safe on Sundays or special events, and everyone can find a space.
Safety Team
Our Safety Team provides safety and security to our church grounds during our gatherings. In today’s world, we must be ready to respond to emergencies. This team augments our Calvert County Deputy Sheriff on duty each Sunday. They are trained to respond to an emergency.
Hospitality Team
Our culture at Life Church is one of hospitality. We want to give and bless everyone who comes into contact with us because Christ has greatly blessed us. Our Hospitality Team is more than just coffee or refreshments on Sundays. They serve families in the body and community who may have suffered a crisis with spiritual and physical encouragement through communication, visitation, gifts, food, and support. If you have the gift of hospitality, what are you waiting for? Join this team.
Prayer Team
Prayer is the engine that drives everything the church does. We can do many things after we pray, but we can’t do anything until we pray. Our Prayer Team receives and prays for the needs of individuals, families, our community, our nation, and the world.
Life Kids Team
More fun happens in our kids’ ministry than anywhere else in Life Church. Volunteers in Life Kids minister to our newborns through 5th graders during weekend worship services by singing with the children, telling stories, and teaching the truth of God’s Word. They check in kids, lead classrooms, assist teachers, and care for babies and toddlers.
Life Teens Team
The Life Teens Team serves weekly to disciple our teens to know Jesus! They want to assist families in growing in their faith together. Life Teens provides a safe place for youth from grades six to twelve. All Life Teens volunteers require a background check.
Men of Life Team
There is a crisis of male leadership in the church today. Men of Life exists to help men be who God has called them to be. If you want to help build men and, by extension, impact families for Christ, this may be an opportunity for you.
Ladies of Life Team
Ladies of Life exists to help women be all that God has called them to be. The Ladies of Life Team fosters healthy relationships with other women longing to grow deeper in their faith and impact their world for Christ! LCC Young Adults Team
It’s no secret that young adults are walking away from the church. We need to be intentional about reaching the next generations. LCC Young Adults is a way to invest in our young adults and see them become world changers.
Heart F.E.L.T. Team
The Hear F.E.L.T. (Feeding Empty Little Tummies) Team fills backpacks with supplemental food for the weekends for students in need in our public schools. If you want to help ensure needy kids in our area are being fed, join this team.
Missions Team
Jesus told us to go into all the world and make disciples. Our Missions Team looks for ways to support our missionaries and takes opportunities to go in person to help build the Kingdom worldwide. If you are interested in serving or supporting our missionaries in prayer or financial support, this team is for you.
Production Team
Volunteers on the Production team keep things running smoothly during our weekend services and at events so that our attendees have a great experience meeting with the Lord and the church. They run the lighting and sound booth during services, put up slides for services, and set up for services and events.

Imagine never receiving a gift for Christmas. We know God gave us the greatest gift in Jesus Christ the Son, born to save us from our sins. Each year, Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, provides shoeboxes full of items to bless children worldwide. Each child also gets the greatest gift: a chance to hear the Gospel. If you want to be a part of collecting items and packing for distribution, this team is for you.
Drama Team
Life Church Calvert’s drama team, The MESSengers, while serving as conduits to the overall teaching, brings thought-provoking and teachable moments to the stage and screen as a part of worship. We hope to reach those who feel unreachable and for this ministry to help serve as a reminder of the power of the Holy Spirit.
The MESSengers encourage men and women and boys and girls of all ages to get involved. Have you never been on stage? That’s okay! Don’t want to be on stage but still want to be involved? That’s okay too! Every good performance ON stage has to have a fantastic crew OFF stage!
So whether you want to act, move set pieces, or help write scripts, there is a place for all who wish to participate!
