OCC at LCC

Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse, delivers gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need across the globe. Each shoebox is a simple gift with eternal purpose. Through local church partners, children hear the Gospel and are invited into ongoing discipleship through The Greatest Journey.

Entire families and communities are impacted as the local church grows and the message of Jesus spreads.

Life Church Calvert has supported Operation Christmas Child for many years. Today, we are honored to serve as a regional drop-off location for Calvert County and the surrounding area.

Each fall, churches, families, and individuals bring their packed shoeboxes to LCC before they are sent to processing centers and shipped worldwide. We pray over every box collected and trust God to use each one for His glory.

Stacy Davidson leads the Operation Christmas Child ministry at LCC and coordinates our year-round collections and regional drop-off efforts.

This ministry is one way we live out our mission to Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples.

November 16–23, 2026

Every year, National Collection Week takes place the third week in November when more than 4,500 drop-off locations open across the country. Life Church Calvert is a regional drop-off location during National Collection Week. Times will be posted on this page in early October. Please check back then to see where you can begin your journey of donating a shoebox to a child in need around the world.

Throughout the year, you can also Build a Shoebox Online, or mail or drop off your gift-filled shoeboxes at one of our permanent centers listed below.

If you are a church or community member looking for a place to drop off your shoebox gifts, we would love to serve you.

To prepare for collection season, we gather specific items throughout the year.

Donations may be brought to the church lobby on Sundays or during regular office hours.

1. Choose a boy or a girl and select an age group: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.
2. Fill the box with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items.
3. Include a personal note if you would like.
4. Pray for the child who will receive it.
